The
X4 Rail HPV
![]()
Ever wondered what it would be like to ride on
rails? Unlike like a road, the rails are perfectly
smooth, and with steel to steel, rolling resistance
is about 90% LESS than rubber on road! So it is like
you just glide along, with much less effort than is
needed with a bike or trike...... And no
steering is required! In fact with the X4 being such
a minimum machine, (weighing only15.8 kg), on
a track in a large garden, you feel like are just
gliding over the grass and ponds, like on a magic
carpet, with no visible means of support! Almost at
one with nature.... What a wonderful way to
exercise... Even comfortable for pregnant
mothers :-)
The X4 was designed for miniature railways at the
suggestion of David Henshaw, editor of A to B
Magazine, and editor of Miniature Railway Magazine,
see www.atob.org.uk
and www.miniature-railway.com
It was designed for 7 1/4" gauge tracks, which
are a common gauge for large gardens, and for
miniature railway clubs. However the track width is
adjustable, so it should also run on 5" tracks,
and with longer axles on 10 1/4", 12 1/4",
and 15" tracks.
